Makership Design and Prototyping Training
WANT TO BE AN INVENTOR?
Program dates TBD based on Covid-19 policies.
Are you interested in product design and development? Have you wondered what it would be like to invent something? Build a robot? Create a new product from scratch?
During the Spring semester, Kravis Lab for Social Impact offers the Makership Design and Prototyping Training Program. The Makership is a premiere experience for student makers interested in product development and prototyping. During the ten week program, students will work alongside industry experts at the Los Angeles Cleantech Incubator (LACI) to ideate and fabricate a product of their own. The LACI campus will give students access to professional grade prototyping machinery and will provide a pipeline to internships and mentorships for pioneering startups.
The weekly workshops will teach:
- Tools for generative thinking
- Digital design and 3D modeling
- Industrial prototyping techniques
- User interface and experience design
In the final week, students will pitch their ideas to a panel of judges.
Applications for Makership will be open in November 2021.
