Sophomore Challenge

“Courage, Collaboration and Changemaking”

Class of 2023: Spring 2021

Dates TBD based on travel restrictions and Covid-19 policies.

The Sophomore Challenge (formerly SLE) is an unforgettable part of every CMC student’s 4-year journey! In this high-energy, fun, and powerful experience, you will go to a beautiful retreat in Ojai, California. It’s a chance for you to connect deeply with classmates; it’s a chance to build your courage in the famous Ropes Course; and most of all, it’s a chance to learn some of the core skills you need to succeed in college and beyond. We will focus not only on building teamwork with your classmates, but also on learning the “action mindset” – how you can “dare greatly” in pursuing your biggest dreams.

Sophomore Core Communication Skills Study

Connection and Discourse Across Differences

KLab is conducting a study to understand the key skills, tools, and practices that can help students connect deeply and get along better in a diverse, rapidly changing world. This will help us build a powerful, evidence-based program for future generations of students at CMC.

Upperclass students will serve as mentors to provide coaching and support.

Applications for Core Skill Mentors are posted on Handshake.
Deadline to submit is Sept 4, 2020
